The main objectives of this research work are:

  • establish reliable synthesis methods: classic but also unconventional to obtain single-phase compounds. The sample synthesis is of prime importance and significant efforts will be made to obtain single phase poly-crystalline samples and single crystals of high quality.
    The complementary of data obtained on the both types is crucial for a complete characterization;

  • the use of combined complementary experimental techniques in an extended temperature range and at different scales to carefully investigate the crystal structures and micro-structures, the electric behaviors and the magnetic ordering processes, to obtain a precise description of our samples;

  • the study of structures-properties relationships and understanding of underlying mechanisms that govern the properties;

  • the identification of interesting candidates for new tuneable multifunctional applications.
